The Echoes of the Witch website is a digital manifestation of a larger book project. Though this work directs our collective attention and memory towards the individuals accused and executed as witches throughout present-day America, Echoes of the Witch seeks to acknowledge the broader lingering effects and implications of witch-hunting and persecution—practices that persist to this day, both literally and metaphorically.
As a book, Echoes of the Witch will encourage and enrich these broader conversations about cultural memory, power, and the land. For a more immersive experience, the book will provide additional imagery, maps, and resources. It will also welcome other voices to further contextualize and expand on the issues raised by this project.
The artists are currently in the midst of engaging and curating relevant publisher and contributor partners.
